This shawl is knit in one of those lovely laces based on the Shetland feather and fan stitch. There is so much movement and interest in the pattern that it may look more difficult to do than it really is. Starting at the lower point of the shawl and increasing to as wide as you want, it becomes a lovely fan-shaped neck scarf or shoulder wrap with scalloped points at the upper edge. Uses lace-weight or very fine yarn in amount to give you the size you want with size 5 needles and gauge of 6 sts/in over pattern stitch.
