Bodice of dress is worked first in rows of garter stitch, then sleeves are added in stockinette stitch. Stitches are then picked up for the skirt which is worked in rounds of stockinette stitch from top to hem. Written for a light worsted weight or DK weight yarn that will result in a soft fabric when knit to a gauge of 5 sts to 1". Baby Care, Snuggly DK, Domino, Denim DK all will do well in this pattern.
