Echoes of Chincoteague is an elegant top down triangular lace shawl inspired by the flora and landscape of Chincoteague Island. The choice of fiber, color, lace stitches is designed to reflect the growing community of knitters in this barrier island community and its surroundings. The Echo Lace section of the shawl is a reflection of shell fish, flora, and marsh mounds seen as you arrive on the island. The Waves and Dunes comprise the Atlantic Ocean vista and the Edging is a representation of the many pine trees on the island.
Size 5 (3.75mm) 32” circular needles are used. The gauge is not essential to this project. Skill level is for an experienced knitter. The pattern includes both written and charted instuctions.
